I first met Reg Brown in 1996. He greeted me with a beaming smile and an open friendly face. I had become friends with Simon at that time and when I called the family home, Reg would always say – Simon ??! …as though his first born was news to him.
He was a fan of words and rhymes. He had a knack of reading people. I will always remember the thought provoking questions he would ask me. Like “ How do you feel being around the Brown family for so long ?”, after a three day break in the Lakes. He seemed to read my mind.
His facial expressions, comedy or otherwise, seemed to say so much, when he sometimes spoke so little. But like an open book, this decent, honest, gentleman always shone through.
During his time in ICU – his character and love of affection was clear. To mouth “you look beautiful, give us a kiss” put a smile on my face, I must admit.
